Laser measurement with Riegl FG21-P: reduction of the fine below the registration limit
In a fine proceeding due to a speeding violation in Schweinfurt, we were able to achieve a reduction of the fine below the entry limit of the Driving Ability Register (FAER).
Through a detailed and technically sound questioning of the measuring officer, it was established that he had not carried out the so-called “sighting test” in accordance with the specifications of the operating instructions. Thus, the usability of the measurement was extremely questionable, so that the court ultimately issued a conviction – but left the amount of the fine below the entry limit and thus there is no “point” in the FAER.
